What is VACUUM |
| |
VACUUM Is pressure below atmospheric pressure is denoted in torr. VACUUM is essential utility, For most of industrial processes under vacuum is Inevitable. Boiling points of any materials comes down drastically under vacuum .This advantages are utilized by processes to reduce process temperatures to reduce energy costs as well avoid changes in properties of base materials. |
| 2. |
What are Major different types of Vacuum pumps |
| |
1) Oil sealed 2) Water sealed 3) Steam sealed 4) Dry type |
| 3. |
What is VACULIFE TM |
| |
This Filter technology is developed to protect Vacuum pumping systems in process industries like Oil refining, Distillation with negligible pressure & conductance drop, high life time value without any periodic replacements. |
| 4. |
What is difference between Conventional Filters and VACULIFE TM |
| |
Conventional filters are good to trap dust particles at moderate sizes like 5 Microns and above. Conventional filters cannot trap Liquid , Acid , Oil, Alkali traces under vacuum |
| 5. |
Can VACULIFE TM be used to remove solvent traces from Industrial effluent |
| |
YES VACULIFE TM can trap low boiling solvent traces effectively from industrial effluent and same can be used to remove volatile solvents from water to reduce smell in water. |
| 6. |
How this filter works |
| |
This filter works on Electrostatic Precipitation under vacuum and will charge particle traces from process & collect the same. |
| 7. |
Does VACULIFE TM traps Liquid & Gaseous traces too |
| |
Yes VACULIFE TM can trap all types of particles from solid to liquid & gaseous particles prom process like oil and solvents. |
| 8. |
How important the vacuum is in Process industry |
| |
Vacuum is highest essential utility in processes like Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Steel, Oil, Semi conductor, Electrical & electronics, as Vacuum plays a very important role. However a small drop in the level affects productivity and increases cycle time abruptly. When vacuum level is poor high process temperature are required to carry the process. For example Methanol Boiling points are @ 30 torr Plus +6 °C @ 10 Torr - 10 °C
@ 5 torr - 19 °C

| 9. |
Is this filter suitable only for OIL Sealed Vacuum pumps |
| |
No this filter is suitable for all types of Vacuum pumps where vacuum is moderate levels. |
| 10. |
Is this filter cause any pressure & conductance drop? |
| |
Practically NO, but any additional equipment even small tank will cause some drop. In our filter pressure drop is so negligible that the same cannot be measured. As electrodes are kept at very high distance there is no hindrances to flow. |
| 11. |
Is filter is to protect vacuum pumps alone? |
| |
Protection of Vacuum pumps means protection of process. VACULIFE TM will protect vacuum pumps as well and top of that this filter will help to maintain & improve vacuum levels on account of reduced vapor load on pumping systems. VACULIFETM would thus help customers to improve productivity & quality. VACULIFE TMcan in some cases help in replacing energy intensive steam jet ejectors with Oil sealed vacuum pumps. |
| 12. |
Can VACULIFETM be installed in Hazardous areas of application |
| |
Yes this can be installed in Hazardous areas like group II A & IIB processes in Pharmaceutical, Chemical & Oil sector. VACULIFETM has been tested by BASEEFA- UK and has approved that this technology can be installed in the hazardous areas specified in the said approval. VACULIFETM has been installed in quiet good number in the hazardous area and are working perfectly around the globe. |
| 13. |
How small improvement in vacuum levels will cause productivity improvement |
| |
VACUUM is very essential utility in any process industry like Oil, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Electrical & electronics Industry.
For example boiling point of XYLENE at 7.7 Torr is 47 °C but at 4.6 Torr is 40 °C this is reduction of around 17% which will contribute for productivity improvement. |
